Domestic Adoptions

adoptionsWhether you are a family of one, a step-parent who wishes to provide the love of a parent to the child of your spouse or a parent who, for whatever reasons, believes it is in your child's best interest to have the love and affection of a caring family, at the Maryland Law Office of L. Juanita Board, I am committed to helping you navigate the often complex issues related to adoption.

Although Adoption necessarily involves the severance of parental rights, it also brings with it the promise of creating a family and molding a child into a productive and happy adult. Adoptions are comprised of a three-way relationship. Each member of the relationship, the biological parents(s) (also known as "birth parent(s)"), the adoptive parent(s) and the adoptive person (also called an "Adoptee") shares a journey. However, no member experiences the journey in exactly the same way. Adoption does not end at the issuing of an adoption decree, but is a lifelong journey. As such, it is important to individually explore the lifelong impact for you and the child.

Although sometimes emotionally challenging, there are few things more rewarding than giving a deserving child the love and affection to which, I believe, every child is entitled. Whether representing the prospective parent(s) or the birth parent(s), I am committed to providing personal service tailored to your needs and helping you explore and understand the benefits and challenges you may encounter in adopting a child.

Let me help you sort out the adoption options available to you and to understand the process involved in completing an adoption. Contact me online or call 301-345-2201 to find out how I can help you. Your initial consultation is free.
